“The more you become aware of and respond to the needs of others, the richer your own life becomes.” - Dr. Mollie Marti
The Girl Scout Leadership Experience is the framework to Girl Scouting. The structured system engages girls via three key activities; discovering who they are and what they value, connecting with others, and taking action to make the world a better place.
On Saturday November 22nd, the girls of Carver Girl Scouts will engage themselves in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience by hosting a food drive for the Carver Council on Aging Food Pantry. Giving back to our community helps the girls develop compassion, strengthen their ties to the community, engages critical people and speaking skills, and helps make the world a better place.
Please stop by Walmart at Colony Place in Plymouth Saturday November 22nd, 2014 to shop and donate to the food pantry. The girls will be there from 9 am until 5 pm and lists of needed items will be provided to help your shopping.
The COA food pantry helps to feed families in our community. According to a 2011 census, the food pantry serves roughly 50 families in our community each month. It is located at the Atwood House Multi-Purpose Center at the corner of Lakeview and Tremont Streets. Donations can be made Monday through Friday 9 am to Noon. The food pantry is open to those in need of all ages Tuesday through Thursday 9am to 11am.
