See you tonight!

Don't forget, our Information Session and Sample Troop meeting is tonight at the Carver Public Library at 6:00. Bring your girl and be prepared for fun!

Sunday, September 28, 2014

Come one, come call, and see what Carver Girl Scouts is all about!

Is your girl interested in Girl Scouts, but you're not sure what it's all about? Come to our information session and sample troop meeting this Wednesday, October 1st from 6:00 to 7:30 at the Carver Public Library.

You'll get the chance to ask questions and learn about Carver Girl Scouts while your girl enjoys participating in a sample troop meeting. Your girl will learn the Girl Scout Promise, make a take home craft, and more! This is the perfect time to learn what Girl Scouts is all about.

We will have registration forms on hand so you can join that evening. Registration is $25 for girls. Financial assistance is available, so please don't let the cost hold you back!

If you find that maybe troop meetings aren't for you after all, but are still interested in Girl Scouts, you can still join and participate in all of the great council wide and service unit events, such as rock climbing, the Annual Tree Lighting, and more!

Did you know that adults can register too? Carver Girl Scouts is run entirely by volunteers and we could use your help! For $15 an adult can register as a volunteer, an assistant troop leader, a troop leader, or more. Currently, our Service Unit is in need of a Media Coordinator, someone who is social media savvy that would like to help spread the word about all of the exciting things we do here at Carver Girl Scouts.

See you Wednesday!

Let's figure this online ordering out together!

Yesterday we talked about the Fall Product Sale and the new and exciting option to order online. But how? Well, let me help you along the way!

Honestly, the easiest way is for your girl to send you an their email link. Ask your girl to do so.

If you don't have the email link, then the next few steps are for you.

Before you start your purchase, there are a few things you need to know, specifically the full first and last name of the girl you are purchasing as well as their troop number. This is important to know, because you will need to enter it at one point in order for your girl to get credit for the sale.

All right, now that you have that information, click this hyperlink! Clicking the hyperlink will open a new window or tab in your browser bringing you to the first page of the ordering system.

On the first page, you will enter our council's online store ID# (2689610) and then press NEXT.

The system will then bring you to a new page, asking for your girl's information. Here you will need to enter her full first name, full last name, and troop number. If you don't have your girls information - stop! Give them a call and ask them. After entering the information, press NEXT.
The system will bring you to one last page before you can begin your shopping to share a message from Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. Press SHOP NOW to begin your shopping!

After that, you can pick out your purchases and check out just like any other online ordering system.

Have fun shopping!

Candy, Nuts, Magazines, Photos, Oh My! It must be Fall Sale time!

What is one thing that you think of when you hear the term "Girl Scouts"? Of course you think of Girl Led, leadership, friendship, honesty, team building, crafts, integrity, skills, confidence, and courage... but you probably also think of my favorite treat, COOKIES!

Through Cookie Sales, Girls learn to set goals and meet deadlines. They hone their people skills and business ethics. They are prepared to make decisions and budget money.

Did you know that the Cookie Sale is just one of the sales that girls do? There is also the Fall Product Sale, which starts today!

Take your pick of delicious Dulce De Leche Owls, Honey Roasted Peanuts, or Double Chocolate Truffles.

Or if your sweet tooth isn't so sweet, take a gander at the many magazine options for both adults and kids. Magazines are up to 90% off newsstand prices - you can't beat that - getting your reading material for a discounted price AND supporting your girls in building their money management skills.
New this year are photo books, photo calendars, and more. Make a personal to do list, or custom cards. Perfect since the holidays are coming up. It is recommended that if you wish to use these for holiday cards, to order through your girl's online forms.
Wait - what was that, you can order online? Yes! Also new this year, you have the ability to order online. Check out our blog tomorrow to learn how, OR ask your Girl today for one of their Business Cards!
Remember, through the Fall Sale, not only do girls earn start up money for their troops, but they develop key skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.

Talk to a girl today and see what treats and skills she has to offer!

Fall Sale Ends October 26th!
